Why There Were No Fitness Centers in the 50s.

My mother sent me an email with this video attached with a title "Why There Were No Fitness Centers in the 50s." I remember watching my parents cut a rug in our living room. They loved to dance. I love the energy of this video. Even though most would argue that our culture has sped up in stressful proportions, I believe we have definitely slowed down.

Fort Morgan, Alabama, January 2009

I wonder what Grandpa Howard would have thought of digital photography. His generation, as well as my own, remember well the length of time between the moment your finger tripped the shutter and the anticipation you had as you opened the lab envelope to look at your prints. There aren't may real surprises like that anymore.

Last week I bought a lens that I've waited three years to afford. This is not THE lens, but it's the older sister of THE lens.

My first photos from my new lens where memorable. Note to self: when you are photographing your self-conscious daughter, don't show her the images on the camera back.

Luckily, by the time she was melting down, I'd already taken a keeper.

Yes, I think Grandpa Howard would have loved digital photography.

My All Time Favorite

This image hypnotises me every time. I love the color, I love the scene, I love that my grandmother (standing left) is the only person that can be easily identified. I'm determined to someday have a huge canvas printed of this image for my livingroom.
